Chrisman California Islands Center 

Opening to the public in December, the Chrisman California Islands Center will immediately become the equivalent of the Huntington Library of all-things-California-Islands.

Don't miss the one-time chance to get a private sneak preview tour of this outstanding Museum .  It is owned by the Santa Cruz Island Foundation, which has been collecting and cataloging items from Santa Cruz and other Channel Islands since 1985. Among other things, they maintain the   Islapedia website, a virtual encyclopedia, of 18,000 pages of  topics that make up a fascinating history of this unique island chain.  Four years ago, they purchased a former bank building at the gateway to Carpinteria, and began this project for a mainland venue. It is our privilege to be among the first to see it.

Following the tour, we will walk a short distance to Teddy's By the Sea for a delightful lunch.
